We have arrived in South America (a first for me) ! That was by some way the longest flight I have ever been on. Starting with a short flight to Amsterdam and a four hour wait, we then had to endure twelve and a half hours to Lima, on a not so swish 777. We flew with KLM, and clearly the Dutch do not eat much as I do as within that time we got one meal, one "pizza snack" and a very small egg roll. Needless to say I will be stocking up for the return journey.
Getting to Lima (Finally! Get me off that plane..!) at dusk, our prearranged taxi took us to B&B Cussing Wasing for the night. Lying down was certainly a relief after all that sitting down, but the 03:30 alarm was less welcoming....
